It’s no secret that the rock band U2 has been a special interest of mine for years. Since I first saw
them live in 1983, I’ve been an avid lover of their passion, music and art. These four guys are artists
in a way not commonly found these days. The amount of music they have recorded over their 25+
year history is volumes more than most groups ever hope to. BUT, the songs are rooted in spiritual
longings, plumbing the height and breadth of our experience and journey before God.
In 2005, I was able to meet Bono and the Edge before the San Diego show… what a treat! Their
latest record, HOW TO DISMANTLE AN ATOMIC BOMB is thick with spiritual thoughts, and
ends with a worshipful song, Yahweh that has been called “the first true post-modern hymn”.
