What is Oral Rehydration??
If you live in America, you probably best know a product called Pedialyte®... yes, it's
something you give your sick child to replenish their fluids and electrolytes when
they've had diarrhea or a fever.
Well, believe it or not, about 2,800 children in the Developing and Least-Developed
World will have died TODAY because they didn't have some simple form of that fluid
and electrolyte replacement. Diarrhea kills by dehydration, and Oral Rehydration stops
dehydration.
Simple. SO, so simple. Water, sugar, salt... a little citrus squeezed in if you have it. SO
simple... and yet, 2,800 kids DIED TODAY because they didn't get that drink... and 2,800
will died tomorrow! Shocked? You should be. Angry? You bet.
OUR MISSION is to teach the simple skill of making 'home-made Pedialyte®' in poor
areas of the world. Help us get this simple educational message out to EVERY mother
and child-care giver in the world!
